ASVAB Arithmetic Reasoning Practice Test
Arithmetic Reasoning measures how well you solve everyday math word problems: rates and distance, percentages, ratios and proportions, simple interest, averages, and work problems. It is one of the four subtests that make up your AFQT score, so every point here counts toward whether you can enlist.

Tips for Arithmetic Reasoning
- Read the last sentence first so you know exactly what the question is asking for.
- Estimate before you calculate. It lets you rule out answer choices that are clearly too big or too small.
- Memorize the core formulas: distance = rate × time, interest = principal × rate × time, and percent = part ÷ whole × 100.
- Write down units (miles, hours, dollars) as you go so you never mix them up.
